Bear Lake Half Marathon

Friday night, Me, Brittany, Jesse and Brooke (Jesse's girlfriend) drove up to Bear Lake. We camped at a KOA. We stopped at a local pizza joint for our carb overload, then went back to our camp and roasted s'mores. It was super windy that night combined with nerves, needless to say we didn't sleep much that night.

Saturday morning we got up at six so we could catch the shuttle at 6:45 and the race started around 7:30 My goal during the race was to not walk at all, and I am pleased to announce that I accomplished my goal!! The run was not to bad, except the last 2 miles they were pretty brutal, but I made it out alive. I finished 12th in my age division and 120th overall out of about 500, not to shabby. I am now pleased to say that I have finally reached my goal of completing a half marathon, and it feels great!!!

Our Cheerleaders/photographers

After the race we took off our shoes and we thought it was funny that neither of us had on matching socks.

After the race I was so tired that everything was funny. Brittany and I laughed to so hard about everything for the next hour or so. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. All in all it was a great experience and a lot of fun!!!

A special thanks goes to Brittany, I never would have made it if I didn't have such an awesome running buddy!

Happy Birthday

Jared turned, well maybe we won't say how old, but Jared had a Birthday!!! We had my sister and her family over for an impromptu  BBQ. Jared got a couple shirts and a New (new to us) Car. He has been needing a new car for awhile now, now that he drives to SLC every day for work. He needed a car that actually works. Its not like we have a shortage on cars, Just cars that run. He is happy with his little car, and I will be happy as soon as we get rid of 2 or 3 cars. Happy Birthday Jared!!

I sure do love that guy!!!

Happy Easter

Here is my attempt at taking a picture of this kids in their new Easter clothes right before we ran out the door for church.......

Sierra's face make me laugh, she is such a funny girl

Spring Break

For Spring Break we went with my whole Family to Escalante State Park, in Southern Utah. Right by our camp site was a huge boulder and the side of the mountain that the kids had so much fun playing on. They climbed up and down for hours each day. They collected rocks and cactus quills.

The first day we just did a simple quick hike right by our camp site. It was super windy. But the kids had fun finding petrified wood.

We went to another place, I can't remember the name, but it was like a smaller version of Goblin Valley. The kids had fun climbing on the red rock and playing in the tunnels and caves.

One of the days we went and hiked a slot canyon. It was a lot of fun. It was definitely  a team effort. There were some places where we had to take off our back packs to fit through. Jared was carrying Jacob on his back and had to hold his above his head to fit through. The kids absolutely loved it, and I was surprised at what troopers they were. Even Sierra climbed the whole thing by herself, she didn't want any help. When we got to the top we stopped and ate our picnic before we headed back through the other side.

Jacob turned 1

I never posted about Jacobs birth, so I figured I should at least post about his first birthday (even if it is 2 1/2 months late). On March 21 my baby turned 1. We had a Birthday party for him with my family and my grandma. It was so funny when we put the cake in front of him, all the little kids were surrounding him, he didn't want to touch he. He was overwhelmed by the audience. But as soon as we all looked away, he shoveled that cake in his face as fast as he could.

My little Jakey is the sweetest baby around. He is so Happy and SO Loud! He has a lot of siblings to keep up with, he can out scream any of them (except maybe Sierra).
Jacob loves anything electronic, weather its a phone, remote, computer, camera TV etc... The kids have play laptops and he could play on it for hours.
Jacob just started walked about 2 weeks ago at 14 months, he has gotten so good so fast, but I am so glad he took his time to start walking.
He is a busy body just like David, But he isn't as fearless as David was/is which I am very grateful for.
Right now he weighs about 23 lbs. He is a chuck and I love every single roll!!

We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
