Bear Lake Half Marathon

Friday night, Me, Brittany, Jesse and Brooke (Jesse's girlfriend) drove up to Bear Lake. We camped at a KOA. We stopped at a local pizza joint for our carb overload, then went back to our camp and roasted s'mores. It was super windy that night combined with nerves, needless to say we didn't sleep much that night.

Saturday morning we got up at six so we could catch the shuttle at 6:45 and the race started around 7:30 My goal during the race was to not walk at all, and I am pleased to announce that I accomplished my goal!! The run was not to bad, except the last 2 miles they were pretty brutal, but I made it out alive. I finished 12th in my age division and 120th overall out of about 500, not to shabby. I am now pleased to say that I have finally reached my goal of completing a half marathon, and it feels great!!!

Our Cheerleaders/photographers

After the race we took off our shoes and we thought it was funny that neither of us had on matching socks.

After the race I was so tired that everything was funny. Brittany and I laughed to so hard about everything for the next hour or so. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. All in all it was a great experience and a lot of fun!!!

A special thanks goes to Brittany, I never would have made it if I didn't have such an awesome running buddy!

Happy Birthday

Jared turned, well maybe we won't say how old, but Jared had a Birthday!!! We had my sister and her family over for an impromptu  BBQ. Jared got a couple shirts and a New (new to us) Car. He has been needing a new car for awhile now, now that he drives to SLC every day for work. He needed a car that actually works. Its not like we have a shortage on cars, Just cars that run. He is happy with his little car, and I will be happy as soon as we get rid of 2 or 3 cars. Happy Birthday Jared!!

I sure do love that guy!!!

Happy Easter

Here is my attempt at taking a picture of this kids in their new Easter clothes right before we ran out the door for church.......

Sierra's face make me laugh, she is such a funny girl

Spring Break

For Spring Break we went with my whole Family to Escalante State Park, in Southern Utah. Right by our camp site was a huge boulder and the side of the mountain that the kids had so much fun playing on. They climbed up and down for hours each day. They collected rocks and cactus quills.

The first day we just did a simple quick hike right by our camp site. It was super windy. But the kids had fun finding petrified wood.

We went to another place, I can't remember the name, but it was like a smaller version of Goblin Valley. The kids had fun climbing on the red rock and playing in the tunnels and caves.

One of the days we went and hiked a slot canyon. It was a lot of fun. It was definitely  a team effort. There were some places where we had to take off our back packs to fit through. Jared was carrying Jacob on his back and had to hold his above his head to fit through. The kids absolutely loved it, and I was surprised at what troopers they were. Even Sierra climbed the whole thing by herself, she didn't want any help. When we got to the top we stopped and ate our picnic before we headed back through the other side.

Jacob turned 1

I never posted about Jacobs birth, so I figured I should at least post about his first birthday (even if it is 2 1/2 months late). On March 21 my baby turned 1. We had a Birthday party for him with my family and my grandma. It was so funny when we put the cake in front of him, all the little kids were surrounding him, he didn't want to touch he. He was overwhelmed by the audience. But as soon as we all looked away, he shoveled that cake in his face as fast as he could.

My little Jakey is the sweetest baby around. He is so Happy and SO Loud! He has a lot of siblings to keep up with, he can out scream any of them (except maybe Sierra).
Jacob loves anything electronic, weather its a phone, remote, computer, camera TV etc... The kids have play laptops and he could play on it for hours.
Jacob just started walked about 2 weeks ago at 14 months, he has gotten so good so fast, but I am so glad he took his time to start walking.
He is a busy body just like David, But he isn't as fearless as David was/is which I am very grateful for.
Right now he weighs about 23 lbs. He is a chuck and I love every single roll!!

DaVinci?

David has amazed me the past couple of weeks. He has suddenly discovered how much he loves to color and draw. My mom let him borrow a book that shows you step by step how to draw different things, he didn't put it down for days. He drew everything in the entire book. His attention and ability for drawing, coloring and tracing, is way beyond that of your average 4 year old. He has such attention for the little details. He spends most of his day, every day coloring and drawing, and he is perfectly happy. I may have my own little DaVinci on my hands!

Birthday Party!

For Morgan's Birthday Party, we did a Circus/carnival theme. It was a lot of fun! She invited her school class. They played circus style games; Pin the nose of the clown, ring pop walk, and a couple of games involving balloons. The had a good time. Of course my camera died before I even took any pictures of the kids.

This awesome cake was made by my very talented Sister-in-law. She makes some seriously awesome cakes. Thanks Jenn it was awesome and it was sooo yummy!

Six years ago today, my life changed, and would never be the same. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She has changed my life in every way possible. She has given my life meaning. She has been the reason for so many smiles and so many tears. She has been the reason for so many soft spoken works of love and loudly spoken words of frustration. She has been the source of many hugs and kisses and also the source of many a stinky diapers and big messes. I wouldn't have it any other way. She is so sweet, loving a kind. She has made me a better person. Happy Birthday to my first born, my baby girl Morgan. Here are 6 facts about Morgan

1. She is a super good reader. She is reading on a 1st/2nd grade reading level.

2. She is like her mother in that she always want to be gone (not at home) doing things.

3. She is very social, she is a leader among her friends.

4. She has a very shy streak in her.

5. Morgan loves playing with friends, playing games on the computer, coloring, and playing with her Polly pockets.

6. Morgan is a very smart girl, and catches on to new things very quickly.

Potty Training

Well, I finally decided to tackle the potty training with child #3. I hate potty training! I hate cleaning up messy pants, I hate not being able to go anywhere because you don't want to have an "accident" in public, I hate having to remind them every 15 minutes to use the potty, But I LOVE the end result. Diapers are SO expensive, and we have been going through a jumbo size pack a week with 2 kids in diapers. Sierra has been doing awesome the last 2 weeks. She is averaging 1 "accident" a week, that I can handle. She is so proud of herself every time she goes in the potty, she gets this look on her face like "I'm so awesome, I just used the potty." Hooray for big girl underwear!!!!!

Some other things about Sierra

*She loves going to Nursery

*She loves to color. I will find her in the toy room just coloring to her hearts content.

*She loves stories

*She has cut her own hair twice, right in the front. It's starting to grow back now so it kinda looks like bad bangs.

*She is very independent, wont do anything unless its her idea.

*She is so funny. She has her own little personality, and always keeps us laughing. She is such a mimic. Better watch out what you do, because She'll be doing it too before you know it!

My morning buddy

Jacob likes to hang out with me in the mornings while I'm getting ready. This is his special place, right here in the sink. He loves it, and I love having a morning buddy :)

Family

A few months ago my Brother Troy got married. They waited to get married until my little brother Jesse got home from his mission. It was the first time in 4 years that my whole family had been together, so naturally we had to get some photo's of "The Caldwell Clan"!!!

Christmas

We had a very nice Christmas. The kids woke us up at 7:30 and we opened presents. Each of the kids got a Lego's Duplo set and a book, and they got a combined gift of a battery powered car. I stood in line Thanksgiving night for 2 hours to get the car, and it ended up being a dud. We would charge the battery all night and it would last until the end of the driveway. We took the car back and we couldn't even exchange it because it was just a black Friday special, the don't even carry them. Jared got an xbox 360 with a kinect, and I got a nice camera (which obviously I didn't use to take the not so great pictures) and a kindle fire. We spent the morning playing with our new toys, in the afternoon we went to my parents and spent time with my family. It was a wonderful Christmas with no snow (hallelujah).

As for our NYE, Jared took the kids up to his parents house in Idaho, and I was home stuck in bed with tonsillitis. On the bright side I read the first two books in the Hunger Games series.

We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
